Before our 300 native oysters went out at our trial sites on May 31st, they were measured (3 measures each), weighed and photographed (to determine shell area) and we repeated this process between Sept 21 – Sept 29.
Tony Bazeley, PAREPG has analysed our data for the weights and measures and his draft analysis is now available here. The diagram below shows the average length change for all oysters – from 59.4mm to 74.2mm – and a higher growth rate in the first six weeks.
