Since our mangrove seedlings were transplanted on Oct 30th, as part of our shoreline protection trial by NewPort Quays, there have been some blistering 40+ days.
So it was pleasing to revisit the trial on January 12th and find that 48 of our seedlings were still alive, while for several others it wasn’t clear if they were alive or dead. We started with 153 seedlings so that’s just over 30% survival success rate so far.
