ECF operated from January 2016 to December 2023 as an incorporated not-for-profit organisation, undertaking restoration activities, advocacy and community engagement.

To continue advocacy, environmental monitoring and community engagement in the Estuary, ECF supporters have formed Friends of the Port River.
